Edna Uribe is the founder and CEO of Wear in Motion LLC, a company dedicated to tween girls, offering a holistic approach to personal development, cultural immersion, and style as a force for positive global change. Through meticulously curated collections celebrating diverse cultures and artistic expression, Wear in Motion fosters emotional well-being, confidence, and a sense of community united in sustainable consciousness and global awareness.Â
Before spearheading her own venture, Edna excelled as President and General Manager of Univision Chicago, where she led with distinction in serving the vibrant Latino market and the city's largest minority. As the highest-ranking Latina in Chicago's broadcast industry, she led local news, content, community initiatives, operations, and advertising revenue across two television stations, four radio stations, and OTT/streaming platforms. Her regional oversight extended to Univision Cleveland TV stations.
Driven by a commitment to philanthropy, Edna co-founded the Univision Chicago Women's Leadership Council chapter in 2018, dedicated to empowering high-potential women, particularly Latina talent, in the media industry. She also played a pivotal role in establishing the first Univision Media Center in Chicago, in partnership with CPS, offering middle school students access to media career exploration.
Currently, Edna's influence extends across various non-for-profit boards. She serves as an executive board member of The Chicago Advertising Federation, a Board Trustee for the Chicago Architecture Center, and a board member of the Illinois Broadcasting Association. In recognition of her exemplary leadership, she was honored as one of Chicago United's Business Leaders of Color in 2021.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Edna is deeply passionate about the arts, with a lifelong dedication to flamenco dancing. Her fascination with world cultures and history is evident in her rich experiences living in Mexico, Spain, and the United States. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she embraces her "ambicultural" identity, seamlessly navigating the nuances of each culture daily.
Edna graduated with honors from Benedictine University, holding a dual degree in International Business & Economics and Spanish Literature. She furthered her education with an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Specialization from Harvard Business School Executive Education. Most recently, she completed the Broadcast Leadership Training program at the National Association of Broadcasters in 2023.
